Founded in 2002, the Association is the sponsoring body for the CAIA designation. Recognized globally as "the global mark of distinction in alternative investing", the designation certifies oneâs mastery of the concepts, tools and practices essential for understanding alternative investments and promotes adherence to high standards of professional conduct.
YEO provides its members mentoring, peer networking, and educational opportunities. Membership is open to individuals who are under the age of 40 and are the founders or majority shareholders of companies grossing over $1 million annually (special exceptions also exist for venture-backed firms). Annual membership fees are $1,300. Local chapters hold monthly meetings and sponsor regular educational events or presentations. In addition, the national organization regularly sponsors tours of other countries to study new business strategies, methods, and innovations. Many chapters also feature "self-help" forums where groups of 10 to 12 entrepreneurs from noncompeting industries get together to work on common problems faced by small business owners, such as hiring good employees or international expansion. Personal issues are also sometimes explored in these private, confidential settings, which are facilitated by trained moderators.

As a member of the investment committee. I worked with the investment staff to interview money managers, consultants, and other service providers, as well as to conduct due diligence site visits prior to making investment allocations ranging from $50 million to $250 million. - Began an active involvement in trustee training and fiduciary education. - Invested in the formation of the Fiduciary Training Institute, the Foundation of Advanced Fiduciary Education and Empowerment, and the National association of Investment Fiduciaries to serve the BUY-side Community. - Served an invited speaker and moderator of investor panels made up of experts at major institutional investment conferences being held worldwide.

As the scope and complexity of water protection programs increases, so does the demand for improved water resource management. The Houston Area Water Corporation (HAWC) is a local, not-for-profit governmental corporation created by the City of Houston to provide the oversight, management and implementation of integrated solutions that meet or exceed environmental, economic, and sociopolitical requirements with respect to its water rights and assets. As a director of the HAWC, it is my honor to serve and contribute whatever business experience and specialized knowledge to develop specific, integrated solutions that meet HAWC's regulations and business goals, in addition to leveraging our city's well-established relationships with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies that help us provide cost-effective integrated resolutions that benefit all stakeholders.

In order to recognize, support, and encourage the young people of our country who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing the cause of relations among the races, Princeton University is sponsoring an awards program for high school students -- the Princeton Prize in Race Relations. Princeton and its alumni recognize that the issue of race relations continues to be one of the most urgent and important challenges facing our country. We have created this program to identify and commend young people who are working to increase understanding and mutual respect among all races. Through the Princeton Prize, we hope to encourage others to join in these or similar efforts and to undertake initiatives of their own.
